Hello Sir/Madam,

The obvious and most ‘tangible’ effect the pandemic had on the world of learning, was that everything and everyone had to ‘go virtual’. On a more fundamental level, there were other major shifts. The way people look at work changed radically.

How is that relevant for training providers, you ask? Well, your audience consists of professionals that want to improve and/or develop themselves. Because they are changing jobs, changing careers or because their company is changing. And that's happening more than ever.

The pandemic has been a serious catalyst for those changes and that’s why reskilling and upskilling seems to be on the minds of everyone in learning. We’re still a sceptical bunch, so we won’t go along with that just yet. We are going on a mission to learn more.

So, for the next couple of months, this ‘skills obsession’ is going to be the core ingredient of what we’ll serve up in aNewLetter. Please join the discussion!

Revamping our newsletter was a means to an end. That goal is to more thoroughly look at what’s happening in the market that’s really relevant for training providers.

So, we’re picking a topic to dissect during a four-month period. Why, how and what we’re exactly doing around ‘the skills obsession’ is something we neatly wrote down.

The World Economic Forum created a taxonomy of skills that have a growing relevance in a fast-changing labour market. Handy!

This can guide learning providers in what skills are needed (to be trained). Predictable ones
like Innovation & Creativity, Digital & Tech, and more surprising ones like Languages, Working With People and Self-management.

Learning professionals will think even more in skills instead of jobs, training providers (and their offering) should speak the same language.
