Did you know that it’s estimated that 375 million workers need to be reskilled by 2030. And 87% of companies say they experience significant skills gaps and this whole gap can be valued at $8.5 trillion (with a ‘tr’, so a million times a million).
Staggering numbers, almost surreal, to a point where they are becoming unusable. But we all see how work has changed, for example the way we do it (hybrid anyone..?), how we balance it with our personal lives and how quickly our careers change. And you probably know, in all of those examples learning is involved.
So like we said in the previous aNewLetter, we’re putting our teeth in it. I could go on to say that we’ll 'pre-chew' or 'pre-digest' it for you, but that sounds a bit gross. Anyhow, we went through major reports and summarised them for you to lay the groundwork for this theme.
Furthermore, we still are very much interested in hearing from you about re- and upskilling. Get in touch to share thoughts or even be a guest writer!

Does the Global Sentiment Survey ring a bell? It is performed every year to assess what is going on in the world of learning.
Not long ago, we organised an interesting webinar with the man behind the survey: Donald Taylor. Together, we discussed this year’s results, with unique data and interpretation from the perspective of training providers.
Having the right skill set is necessary to become a well-rounded professional, but there are two more aspects that are equally important: tools and mindset.
In this piece, Ger discusses the so-called Holy Trinity and what makes every part of it essential when it comes to finding (or teaching) the right person for the job.
So, there’s a big task ahead for you learning professionals. What can you learn from what peers are doing or how do you compare to them?
A great resource for this is the 2022 Learning Trends report from Will Thalheimer at Tier1. It gives insights about the current state of learning, which can be a great benchmark for you(r organisation).
